No, this will not be reported as a new account and your account open date will appear as the same date currently reported on your credit file. The information previously reported to the credit bureaus has been updated with the Capital One name, and the credit bureaus will continue to receive updates based on your ongoing account performance.

Your new card is tied to your BJ's membership tier. If you'd like to upgrade your card, all you need to do is upgrade your membership. To do so, go to BJs.com or visit Member Services at a BJ's near you. Once you upgrade your membership, you will also upgrade to the BJ's One+ Mastercard, and a new card will be sent to you. Your account open date will remain the same even if you upgrade your card. All of your rewards will transfer when you upgrade.
You should have received a new card with a new card number, expiration date and security code in the mail. You may now activate and start using it. Be sure to destroy your old card, and any authorized user cards, as soon as possible. There are a few new payment-related changes you should keep in mind:
Payment cutoff time: Payments made by mobile, online or over the phone by 8 p.m. ET, Monday–Saturday, will be credited to your account on the same day. Mail payments received by 5 p.m. local time at our processing center will be credited to your account on the same day. Payments made on a Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day may not be credited that same day, unless the Payment Due Date is set for that date. Payments made in any other form may not be credited for the day they are received.
Online: You can make online payments through the Capital One website or mobile app.
Mail: Your statements will have a new design and payment address and will include a pre-addressed envelope for your payment. Send all Capital One payments to the address listed on your statement.
Phone: The servicing phone number has changed, along with some menu options. Please call the number on the back of your card. Clubs do not currently accept payments directly on-site.
Automatic monthly payment settings from your old account may have transferred over to your new Capital One account. You should have received a letter or an email that notified you whether your Autopay settings were transferred or canceled.
Future one-time scheduled payments have not transferred. Be sure to check your new account if you had a future payment scheduled. You can set up an account at BJs.capitalone.com to check the status of your payments.
While most recurring payments have been automatically transferred to your new card, we recommend updating your credit card information anywhere it's used for automatic or recurring payments, such as utilities or online subscriptions. Your new card has a new number, expiration date and security code.
You can now enroll with Capital One online! If you’re already a Capital One customer, you can use your existing Capital One username and password and add your new card to your account. This will allow you to view all your Capital One accounts at once.

Some of your settings like AutoPay may have transferred, but others may not have and will need to be set up again in your new Capital One online account.
If you use other services like QuickBooks, TurboTax or Mint and you do not already have Capital One online access, you will first need to set up credentials with Capital One at BJs.capitalone.com. Your prior Comenity Capital Bank credentials have not transferred. Once completed, you will need to log into the service, disconnect your Comenity BJ's account connection, and navigate to add a new account. From there, choose Capital One, log into your Capital One account using those new credentials and choose your BJ's card(s) to connect.
